This is Apartment 12 in Torquay. It's in Astor House, which is a big old Victorian building that's been split into flats. Ours is on an upper floor.
It sleeps four, but it's one bedroom. There's a double bed and a sofa bed in the living area. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. One bathroom. We allow up to two dogs.
The main thing is the view. It faces south over the garden and you can see the sea. It's about a five minute walk down to the seafront and the marina. The town centre is close, maybe ten minutes on foot.
There's a local shop a couple of minutes away. A pub and a restaurant are about the same distance as the beach. For a proper swim, you'd want to go to one of the proper beaches like Meadfoot or Oddicombe, which are a drive or a good walk.
You get membership to use the swimming pool and gym at the Imperial Hotel, which is nearby. That's included.
In terms of things to do, Torquay's got the usual stuff. There's a model village, Kent's Cavern, and you can get boat trips from the harbour. Paignton Zoo is very close. Dartmouth and Totnes are about half an hour's drive. Dartmoor is about 45 minutes.
The apartment has parking on site, which is a relief in Torquay. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. We provide bedding and towels. We can put a cot and highchair in for you if you need them.
