Chestnut is on that bend of the coast road past Maidencombe. It's one of six cottages here, set in about an acre of shared garden. You get your own front door. The view from the garden is out to sea, over the trees.
It sleeps four, has two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's a 4 Star, so it's comfortable and well kept. Upstairs is fine, but it's a cottage layout so the stairs are a bit steeper than a modern house.
Maidencombe beach is about a ten minute walk downhill. It's a sheltered little cove. The Thatched Tavern pub in the village is about the same distance. It does food.
Oddicombe Beach is close. You can walk down through the woods, but the path is very steep. Most people use the Babbacombe Cliff Railway. It's a proper funicular, saves your legs on the way back up. From there you can walk along to Babbacombe Beach.
Torquay harbour is a five minute drive, maybe ten with traffic. St Marychurch is nearer for shops. The National Trust has a few properties around here, like Agatha Christie's place at Greenway. Dartmouth and Totnes are within half an hour.
Facilities: parking on site, WiFi, TV, bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need one. You can bring up to two dogs.
