Ottery Tor is one of the apartments at Devon Palms in Maidencombe, just outside Torquay. It's on the main coastal road, about 600 yards up from the beach. It's in the grounds of the main house, so it's quiet but not isolated.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, but it's not a luxury hotel. The bedroom and bathroom are both on the ground floor, which is good if you don't fancy stairs.
You've got a little enclosed patio area to sit out. Parking is right there.
Maidencombe Beach is down the hill. It's a sheltered cove with a cafe. The Thatched Tavern pub is there too. It's a 10 minute walk, maybe a bit less.
You're right on the South West Coast Path here. The walk from Watcombe to Maidencombe is very good. You get woods, fields, and the cliffs.
Torquay town centre is about four miles away for shops and restaurants. Babbacombe is close by, which has the Model Village and Bygones. The English Riviera website has a full list of what's on.
Further afield, you can get to Paignton Zoo, Dartmoor, or Exeter within about half an hour by car.
Inside, it's open plan. There's a TV, WiFi, a washing machine, and a shower. Bedding and towels are included. A cot and highchair are available if you need them. No pets, I'm afraid.
If you're looking at walks, the National Trust for Torbay has good information.
