Babbacombe House
Babbacombe House is on Babbacombe Downs in Torquay. It's a big house, sleeps twelve. Six bedrooms, five bathrooms.
It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's well finished and has good facilities. It's a tall house. The stairs are fine, but there are a fair few of them.
The main thing is the view. Every room at the front looks right out over the Downs and the sea. You can't miss it. The roof terrace is up three flights, but you get the panoramic view from there. It's not overlooked.
Inside, it's set up for a group. The kitchen is open plan and well equipped. There's a ground floor living room, and a bunk room and toilet just off the kitchen which is handy. The bedrooms are all a good size, most have their own shower room. Two on the first floor share a big bathroom with a separate bath and shower.
You're right on the front. The green is across the road. There are cafes, restaurants, and a pub very close by. Babbacombe Beach and Oddicombe Beach are less than a mile's walk. Torquay harbour is about two miles downhill.
For things to do, the English Riviera website has listings. The Princess Theatre is nearby for shows. There's a bowling alley and crazy golf along the front. For a day out, the South West Coast Path is on the doorstep, and you can drive to Dartmoor or Totnes in under half an hour.
Facilities: all the bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, and parking on site. It's not suitable for pets.
