Babbacombe House is on Babbacombe Downs in Torquay. It sleeps twelve, in six bedrooms. There are five bathrooms, so no queues in the morning. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well put together.
The location is the main thing. Every room at the front has a view straight out over the sea. You can sit and watch it all day.
The kitchen is open plan, with good appliances and a big dining table. The living room is at the front too, so you get that view. It's a decent size, but with twelve people in, it can feel cosy.
Upstairs, the bedrooms are all a good size. Two on the first floor share a big bathroom with a separate shower. Three more are on the second floor, each with their own shower room.
The best bit is the roof terrace. You go up to the third floor, there's a little kitchenette for drinks, and then a door out to it. It's got panoramic views and is completely private. No one can look in.
You're right on the front here. There are restaurants, cafes, and a pub a few steps away. Babbacombe Beach and Oddicombe Beach are about a fifteen minute walk downhill. Torquay harbour and marina are a couple of miles along the coast road.
For things to do, the National Trust's Overbeck's is nearby. Paignton Zoo and the beaches at Brixham are within twenty minutes by car. Dartmoor is about forty minutes if you fancy a change from the coast.
Facilities: parking for two cars on the drive, WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher, towels and bedding included. No pets.
