New Barn Reservoir
New Barn Reservoir is a place on its own at the top of the Ringmore hill above Shaldon. It is a converted water reservoir, so it's a bit of an odd shape inside, but that gives it the high ceilings and big windows. You get the views because of that.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. The bathroom is a wet room on the ground floor, which is handy. There's also a shower upstairs. The kitchen and dining area is a good size for everyone to sit together.
It's detached, so you've got your own space. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you have kids or a dog. Actually, no pets, sorry. There are two little patio areas outside to sit. The one at the front gets the evening sun and you can see right across the fields. Your nearest neighbours are some alpacas in the next field.
The village of Shaldon is about a ten minute walk downhill. You can get the ferry from there across the river to Teignmouth. There's a shop, a couple of pubs that do food, and Shaldon beach. For a bigger beach, Teignmouth is just across the water.
If you drive, there's a lot nearby. Torquay is about twenty minutes. Dartmouth and Brixham are maybe half an hour. Exeter is about the same. Dartmoor's edge is about a forty minute drive.
It's got a washing machine, dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking for two cars on the gravel drive.
