Seaspray is one of the Coastguard Cottages in Dawlish. It's the end one of the row. The main thing is the view. You look straight out over Dawlish beach and the sea to the horizon. You don't get a view like that everywhere.
It sleeps six in three bedrooms. One bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well looked after and comfortable. The living area is open plan with a wood burner. Big bi-fold doors open onto the terrace so you can sit outside with that view.
The terrace is lovely but there is a wall with a big drop down to the railway line behind it. It's secure, but you need to be aware of it, especially with kids.
Downstairs there's a separate store room with a toilet and basin. It's useful for beach gear or bikes. The kitchen has the usual stuff, dishwasher, washing machine.
Dawlish is a traditional seaside town. The beach is sandy, about half a mile walk. There's a shop a quarter of a mile away, and a pub and restaurant about half a mile. Dawlish Warren is a good walk along the coast path. There's a big beach, a nature reserve, and a golf course.
Within about half an hour's drive you've got Exeter, or you can go onto Dartmoor. Powderham Castle is nearby if that's your sort of thing. You can get the ferry from Starcross over to Exmouth.
Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. Bedding and towels are included.
