Chaucer Rise is a detached house in a quiet part of Exmouth. It's not on the seafront, it's a residential street. But it's only a ten or fifteen minute walk down to the beach. You get a little enclosed courtyard garden out the back. It's paved, good for sitting out.
It sleeps four. There are three bedrooms, which is handy if you want a bit of space, and two bathrooms upstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The parking is on the drive.
The beach is the big draw here. It's a long, sandy beach, good for a proper walk. The town has the usual shops and things along the front. There's a pub and a restaurant about five minutes walk away.
If you walk east from the beach, you get onto the coastal path. The red cliffs are quite something. That's the start of the Jurassic Coast. You can walk to Budleigh Salterton from there.
Exmouth is good for watersports if that's your thing. The estuary is on the other side of town. It's a birdwatching spot. You can get a ferry across to Starcross from the marina, and walk to Powderham Castle from there.
Exeter is about half an hour by car, or you can get the train from the station. It's a direct line along the estuary, quite a nice journey. Dartmoor is about a 40 minute drive if you want some moorland.
For facilities: there's WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
