Pierhead View
Pierhead View is an apartment right by the pier in Exmouth. You get a clear view out over the estuary mouth. It's between the boat slipway and the working fish quay, so you see a lot of boats.
It's on the first floor in a building called Shelly Court. There's a community of local shops downstairs: a cafe, a crêperie, a bistro, a pub, and a seafood restaurant. You don't have to go into the town centre for basics.
The place sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean. The main room is open plan: kitchen, dining area, and sitting area all together. The sofas seat four. There's a Smart TV. The best thing is the big private balcony off the main room. It has outdoor furniture and a parasol. You can sit out there and watch the water.
The beach is about a five minute walk. Exmouth has two miles of sand. It's patrolled by lifeguards in summer. The red cliffs at Orcombe Point are the start of the Jurassic Coast.
If you like water sports, it's all here: sailing, paddle boarding, windsurfing. You can get boat trips from the dock, or fishing charters. In winter, the Exe Estuary is full of migratory birds. It's a big spot for birdwatchers.
Inland, the East Devon heathland is a short drive away. Good for walking. The town has bus and train links, and plenty of footpaths.
Facilities: parking on site, WiFi, a washing machine, bedding and towels are included. The bathroom has grab rails. There's also bicycle storage. No pets.
