Madeleine
This is a cottage called Madeleine. It's on an estate just outside Ashcombe in Devon.
It sleeps six people. There are three bedrooms and each one has its own bathroom, which is handy.
The place has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable. It's got things like a woodburning stove and a washing machine. The WiFi is good.
Outside, the estate is about the size you'd expect. There are fields and woods to walk in. The main thing is you get use of a heated indoor swimming pool and a sauna, which are in a building nearby. There's also a games room and a playground for kids.
There's a pub on the estate, the Ashcombe Village Club. It's not open every night but when it is, it's a proper local. They do events sometimes.
If you want to do activities, there's an adventure centre less than a mile down the lane. You pay extra for that. They do clay shooting, quad biking, that sort of thing.
Location wise, you're inland here. The South Devon coast at Dawlish is about a 20 minute drive. Torquay is about half an hour. For a big beach day, that's where you'd go.
Dartmoor National Park is also 20 minutes away if you want to go for a walk on the moor.
Exeter is a 20 minute drive in the other direction. It's a city, so it has shops and the cathedral.
You can bring one dog. There's parking right by the cottage.
