This is the Madeleine cottage. It's on the Ashcombe estate near Dawlish in Devon.
It sleeps six people. There are three bedrooms and each one has its own bathroom, which is handy. It has a 4 Star rating. The place is comfortable and well kept.
The cottage is part of a big estate with fields and woods. You can walk straight out into it. There's a shared indoor heated swimming pool and a sauna you can use at the main farm building. There's also a kids' play area outside.
On the estate itself, there's the Ashcombe Adventure Centre about a mile down the lane. You can book activities like quad biking or clay shooting there, but it costs extra. There's also a forest activity club for children called 'A Touch of the Wild'. The Ashcombe Village Club is on site too, it opens some evenings.
In terms of location, you're about three miles from the coast at Dawlish. Torquay's a short drive. It's about twenty minutes to get onto Dartmoor or into Exeter. Dartmouth, Salcombe, and places like Slapton Sands are all within a reasonable drive.
For things to do, the Dartmoor National Park website is useful. So is the National Trust page for Devon if you're visiting their houses or coast.
At the cottage, you've got a washing machine, a wood burning stove, and Wi-Fi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right there. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Sorry, no pets allowed.
