Columbia
Columbia is one of the cottages on the Ashcombe Estate, near Dawlish in Devon. It's a big place for a big group – sleeps fifteen, has seven bedrooms and five bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well-equipped and comfortable.
It's in a quiet valley. You're basically in the middle of the estate, so you can walk out from the door into the woods and fields. The main house, Woodhouse Farm, has a heated indoor swimming pool and a sauna you can use. There's a kids' play area outside too. The garden is yours.
Inside, it's set up for groups. The floors are tiled or wood, which is practical. There's Wi-Fi, a TV, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. There's also a games room. You can bring two dogs.
On the estate itself, about a mile down the lane, there's the Ashcombe Adventure Centre. You can book things like quad biking or clay shooting there, for an extra cost. There's also 'A Touch of the Wild' which runs forest activity days for kids. The local village club opens some evenings for a drink.
Location wise, you're about 20 minutes from the coast at Dawlish. Dartmoor is also about 20 minutes drive north. Exeter is about the same. If you want a longer trip, places like Salcombe or the Eden Project are within an hour.
