The Penthouse - Sunnymead
The Penthouse is an apartment on the top floor of Sunnymead House in Exmouth. It feels modern inside, with a big open plan kitchen and living area. There are two bedrooms, one with a kingsize bed and one with twins, and one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
The main thing is the terrace. It's private, faces south, and you get a good view out towards the river. It's a proper sun trap. You can sit out there with a coffee in the morning. Inside, the stairs up to the apartment are a normal flight, but they're quite narrow.
You're about a five minute walk from the beach, which is a long, sandy one. The town centre is maybe ten minutes on foot. Exmouth gets busy in summer, it's a proper family resort. There's lots of water sports, sailing and that sort of thing. The South West Coast Path goes right through here if you like walking.
You can walk along the estuary towards Lympstone. Dawlish Warren, which is good for birdwatching and has a big beach, is a short drive away. Exeter is about twenty minutes by car or train. For a bigger day out, Dartmoor is roughly forty-five minutes' drive.
The place has the things you'd need: WiFi, a dishwasher, a washing machine, and parking for one car on the drive. We allow up to two dogs. There's a cot and a highchair in the cupboard if you need them.
