Raleigh Cottage is in Exmouth. It's a short walk from the town centre and the seafront. It's a proper terraced house, not a tiny cottage, so there's a bit of space.
It sleeps six across three bedrooms. Two of the beds are super kings that can be split into twins if needed. There are two bathrooms, and one of the bedrooms is on the ground floor with its own shower room. So it works if you've got someone who doesn't want to do stairs.
The house was fully renovated last year. It's clean and new. The stairs inside are standard, not steep like some old places.
You've got a decent enclosed garden out the back with a patio and furniture. The kitchen has everything you'd need. We've put in a washing machine and a dishwasher because you're on holiday, not to do chores.
Exmouth's big sandy beach is easy to get to. It's about a fifteen minute walk. You can drive it in two minutes if you're loaded up with stuff. There's on-street parking right outside the house.
The town has the usual shops, cafes, and a couple of supermarkets. The dock does coastal boat trips. If you like walking, the South West Coast Path is right there. There’s also a cycle path along the estuary that goes all the way up to Topsham, which is nice for a pint.
In the autumn and winter, the Exe Estuary gets thousands of migratory birds. Orcombe Point at the end of the beach is the official start of the Jurassic Coast.
Within about half an hour you can get to places like Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton, or Beer. Dartmoor is about forty minutes inland if you want proper moorland. Exeter is twenty minutes the other way.
Facilities wise: wifi, TV, bedding and towels are included. There's a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. There's a standard electric car charger on the outside wall.
