Brunel Boutique Railway Carriage 1 is exactly what it says. It's one of three railway carriages, converted into a holiday place. It's detached from the others, so you're on your own. You're in Dawlish Warren, right on the seafront, so you look out at the water.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place. The refurbishment in 2019 means it's in good order. It's got all the things you'd expect, like a dishwasher, TV, and parking. Bedding and towels are included.
Now, the thing about a railway carriage is that it's long and narrow. So the layout is open plan and it feels different to a normal cottage. The stairs inside are steep and spiral. You get used to them, but you need to be careful.
Outside, you've got Dawlish Warren beach straight away. You can walk along the sand. There's a nature reserve right there as well, which is good for a stroll. There's a local pub and a golf course nearby.
If you drive, Teignmouth is about ten minutes away. Exeter is half an hour. Plymouth, Dartmoor, and Torquay are all within an hour's drive if you want to explore further.
I should say, it's not suitable for pets. And because of the stairs, it might not be right for anyone with serious mobility issues.
