Endeavour
Endeavour is on the Ashcombe Estate in Devon. It's a big detached house that sleeps fifteen, with seven bedrooms and six bathrooms. It's a 5 Star property, so it's very nicely done.
The house is part of a private estate with a few other cottages on it. You get some shared facilities. There's a heated indoor pool and a sauna you can book, over at Woodhouse Farm. There's also a children's playground on site. The Ashcombe Adventure Centre is down the lane, less than a mile. They do clay shooting, quad bikes, archery, that sort of thing, for an extra charge. There's also a forest activity club for kids called A Touch of the Wild.
Inside, the place is practical and comfortable. Good wifi, smart TVs, proper beds. The floors are either tiled or wood. It's clean and modern, but it's got some character. The Ashcombe Village Club is on the estate and opens some evenings, for a drink or a social event.
Location wise, you're in the countryside but not far from things. The coast at Dawlish Warren is about a 20 minute drive. For a day out, Dartmoor National Park and Exeter are both about 20 minutes away by car.
For attractions, there's a lot within half an hour. You've got the steam railway at Buckfastleigh, Dartmouth with its castle and boat trips, and a few National Trust properties like Greenway. The South Devon National Landscape coast path is close by for walks.
Facilities here: there's parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and an enclosed garden with a BBQ. Bedding is provided. We have a cot and a highchair. There's a games room and a wood burning stove. No pets.
