The Cider Barn is on the Ashcombe estate, near Dawlish. It's a big converted barn for a big group. Sleeps sixteen, eight bedrooms, seven bathrooms. It's got the 5 Star rating. It's not just a certificate, it's genuinely well kept. Comfortable.
You get your own outdoor swimming pool. It's heated but it's only open in the summer months, so check that if it matters. There's also a shared indoor pool and sauna a short walk away at Woodhouse Farm, which is handy if the weather's bad. The barn has a games room, which is good for kids.
The estate itself is quite hilly. Good for walks. There's a kids' playground on site. The Ashcombe Adventure Centre is down the lane. You can book things like clay shooting or quad biking there, but it's an extra cost. They also run foraging walks on Tuesdays.
Location wise, you're about three miles from the coast at Dawlish. That's where the sandy beach is. Teignmouth is a bit further along. For a proper day out, Dartmoor is about twenty minutes' drive. Exeter is about the same. The city's good for shopping and the cathedral.
Some useful links if you're planning: Dartmoor National Park and the National Trust in Devon. They look after a lot of the coast and houses like Greenway.
Practical stuff: it's pet friendly for up to two dogs. The garden is enclosed. There's parking right there. All the bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Supermarkets deliver to the door, which is useful for a group that size.
The stairs inside are typical for a barn conversion, so they're a bit steep and open in places. Just something to note.
