The Cob Barn
The Cob Barn is a detached cottage on our farm here in Shaldon. It's at the top of the drive, so you get the views over the River Teign. It's one of four places here, but you share the courtyard garden only with The Old Piggery next door, which is a smaller cottage. You're separate from the main farmyard and campsite.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both doubles, and two bathrooms. One's on the ground floor. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. It's got proper walls, being stone and cob, so it feels solid.
You're on an 80-acre working farm. We've got sheep, ponies, pigs, that sort of thing. The animals are in the fields, they're not right outside the door. The beach at Shaldon is about a twenty-minute walk down the lane. The pub is half a mile. There's a shop a bit further on.
For a day out, the coast path runs through Shaldon village. You can walk to Teignmouth one way or towards Labrador Bay the other. Dartmoor and Exeter are about twenty minutes in the car. For National Trust places, National Trust Devon has the list. Agatha Christie's Greenway is nearby, up the river.
Inside, it's got what you'd need: TV, wifi, a washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if required. Parking is right outside.
