This is Apple Blossom Cottage, on our farm in Teigngrace. It's the oldest part of the farm, built in the 1200s. It was the kitchen for the main farmhouse later on. You'll see the farmhouse and some other cottages nearby, but you get your own place.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and modern inside, but the walls are thick and the windows are small like you'd expect. It's very quiet.
You look out over our 250-acre beef farm. There are chickens around, so you might find fresh eggs. We've set aside half an acre for dog walking if you bring one. There's a heated outdoor pool you can use, shared with the other cottages. We live on site and we're happy to show kids around the farm if they're interested.
The village shop and pub are about a mile away. They're fine. You're right on the edge of Dartmoor. It's about a 20-minute drive to get up onto the moor properly for walking. The coast at Teignmouth or Dawlish is about 15 minutes by car. Goodrington Sands and Paignton are a bit further, maybe 25 minutes.
For days out, there's quite a lot. Paignton Zoo is close. Castle Drogo and Agatha Christie's Greenway are both National Trust places within half an hour. You can get the steam train from Buckfastleigh, or take a boat from Dartmouth.
What's here: your own garden, parking, TV, wifi, a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. The pool is open in the summer months.
If you're planning walks, the Dartmoor National Park website is useful.
