This is Twelve Oaks Farmhouse, it's in Teigngrace. That's just off the A38 near Newton Abbot. The farm's been here since the 1600s. It's a big old house, sleeps ten. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms.
It’s a working farm with cattle. You’ll see chickens around, and sometimes there are eggs you can take. They’ve set aside a field for walking dogs. The owners live on site, they’re friendly and can tell you about the area.
The house is part of a small group of cottages converted from old farm buildings. You all share the outdoor heated swimming pool. There are also two fishing lakes on the land.
Inside, it's got a wood burning stove. All the usual stuff is there: wifi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking.
The local shop and pub are about a mile away in the village. The coast at Teignmouth or Dawlish is about a fifteen minute drive. Good sandy beaches are a bit further, at Paignton or Goodrington.
Dartmoor is right there, maybe twenty minutes to get up onto the moor. For a day out, Dartmouth is nice for a ferry trip or seeing the castle. There's a steam railway that runs between Kingswear and Paignton. Paignton Zoo is popular with kids.
If you like walking, the Templar Way starts in Teignmouth and goes up to Haytor. For local attractions, the National Trust looks after places like Castle Drogo and Greenway, Agatha Christie's old house.
You can bring one dog. There's a kids' play area on site too.
