Acorn Cottage
Acorn Cottage is one of four places here at Little Dunley, just outside Bovey Tracey. We're on the eastern edge of Dartmoor, so it's quiet. The cottage itself is detached, sleeps four, has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-finished.
You've got your own enclosed garden with a barbecue and table. Inside, there's a wood burner for cooler evenings. The heating and hot water for all the cottages and the pool comes from a biomass boiler, and we have solar panels. We draw our own water from a borehole.
The main thing here is the shared facilities. There's a heated indoor swimming pool with a sauna. There's a games room with pool, table tennis, that sort of thing. Outside, there's an all-weather tennis court and a carp fishing lake in the meadow. The whole site is about 24 acres.
Location wise, you're in Bovey Tracey in five minutes. It's a proper town with shops and a few places to eat. Dartmoor is right there for walking. You can drive up onto the moor in about ten minutes.
The coast at Teignmouth is about 20 minutes by car. Torquay and the rest of the English Riviera are about half an hour. For a day out, the Dartmoor National Park website has walking routes and information. For wider planning, Visit Devon is useful.
Facilities included are WiFi, TV, washing machine, bedding and towels. There's a cot and highchair if needed. Parking is on site, and there's an electric vehicle charger. No pets, sorry.
