Torfield Cottage is part of Lower Elsford Farm in Lustleigh. It's one of four cottages here, on a working farm with a lot of land. You're right on the edge of Dartmoor.
The cottage has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, so it sleeps four. It's a 5 Star property, which means it's high spec and comfortable. Everything's included, bedding, towels, even a cream tea when you arrive. There's parking right outside.
You've got your own enclosed patio area with a barbecue. The real benefit is the shared facilities on the farm. There's a heated indoor swimming pool, a games room, and a kids' play area. You're free to walk all over the 32 acres. There are ponds, a stream, and even an ancient stone row. The chickens wander about, and if you find any eggs, you can take them.
Being on Dartmoor, the views are the main thing. You look straight out over Lustleigh Cleave and the moors. On a clear day you can see all the way to the coast.
Lustleigh village is about two and a half miles away. It's got a very good pub that does food. For a shop, you'd need to go to Bovey Tracey, which is about five miles. That's also where you'll find the main supermarkets.
You're perfectly placed for Dartmoor. You can walk straight onto it from the farm. For fishing, there are two reservoirs, Trenchford and Kennick, within a mile. You can get permits on site.
Further afield, within about half an hour, you've got places like Haytor, Widecombe-in-the-Moor, and the market town of Moretonhampstead. Exeter is about a 40-minute drive if you need a city.
