Brook Lodge is ours. It's in Westcott on Dartmoor. The address makes it sound more on the road than it is. You turn off onto a track to get to us, and the lodge is set back in the trees. It feels quite separate.
It sleeps three, in two bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. The layout is open plan downstairs.
You've got about 13 acres here to wander. It's mostly old woodland and a field with a stream. It's very quiet. At night, you can see a lot of stars. You'll hear owls.
The woods are full of bluebells in spring. You'll see deer, and the Dartmoor ponies sometimes come through. There are granite boulders scattered about, which is just how Dartmoor is.
The local shop and pub are about two miles away in Doccombe. The pub does food. For a bigger shop, you'd go to Exeter. That's about twenty minutes by car.
You're right on the edge of the National Park here. Walking is the main thing. You can step straight out onto the moor. There's a golf club and horse riding nearby if you want that. For a day at the coast, the beach is about a half hour drive.
In the lodge, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring two dogs. There's parking right outside.
