Garden Cottage
This is Garden Cottage, one of four here at Lower Elsford Farm. You're just outside Lustleigh village, right in Dartmoor National Park.
It's a two bedroom place, sleeps four. Both bedrooms have their own bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, so it's well finished, comfy and clean. You'll get a cream tea when you arrive.
The cottage is part of the farm complex. You get your own enclosed garden bit with a barbecue. The main reason to book here, other than the location, is the shared stuff on site. There's an indoor heated swimming pool, a games room, and a kids' play area. Guests can also use the firepit. There are chickens wandering about, and you can take any eggs you find.
The farm is about 32 acres. There's a stream, ponds, and some rough moorland. You can walk up to our own little rocky tor. The views from the fields are across the moor to Hound Tor and Haytor. On a clear day you can see the sea.
A shop is about five miles away. The nearest pub and restaurant is two and a half miles. You'll need to drive.
For local walks and information, it's best to check directly with Dartmoor National Park. About a mile from here are Trenchford and Kennick reservoirs if you want to try some trout fishing.
Facilities in the cottage: it has a woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We have a cot, highchair, and stairgate if needed. Parking is on site. No pets.
