Virginia Cottage is in Bovey Tracey, right on the edge of Dartmoor. It's a one-bedroom barn conversion, so it's just for two people. You can bring one dog.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's cosy and comfortable, but it's not huge. It's all on one level, which is handy. There's an en-suite shower room off the bedroom. The living area is open plan with the kitchen.
The cottage is one of three in a row around a courtyard. We live on site too, along with our smallholding and a small certified caravan site. The whole place is about ten and a half acres. You're welcome to walk around the grounds. We've tried to make things eco-friendly, so it has solar panels and an air source heat pump.
There's a patio area outside your door with a table and chairs. You can park right next to it.
Inside, it's got what you'd need: a TV, WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included.
The shop and a couple of pubs are about a mile away in Bovey Tracey. It's a pleasant walk down the lane.
For getting out, you're on Dartmoor's doorstep. You can walk straight onto the moor from here. The Dartmoor ponies are often around. For a organised day out, Castle Drogo and Lydford Gorge are both close. Buckfast Abbey is about twenty minutes by car.
Exeter is roughly half an hour's drive if you need a city or the cathedral. The south coast around Torbay, with beaches and Dartmouth, is about the same. For cycling, there's a trail on Forestry Commission land at Haldon Forest, which is about seven miles away.
