This is Fig Cottage. It's in Bovey Tracey, on the edge of Dartmoor. The village is about a mile away, so you can walk in for a pint or to get a few things from the shop.
It's a one bedroom place, sleeps two. There are two other cottages next to it in a row, all conversions from farm buildings. We live on site too, in the main house. We've got a smallholding with some animals, and there's a small certified caravan site a little way off. You get your own little patio garden area.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well kept. Because it's a conversion, the ceilings are a bit lower in places. Something to note if you're very tall. Everything is on one floor, so no stairs to worry about.
The cottage is part of our smallholding, so it's eco-friendly. We've got solar panels and an air source heat pump for the heating and hot water.
You're right on the doorstep of Dartmoor. You can walk straight out onto the moor from here. You'll see the ponies. It's good walking country. If you drive, you can be at places like Castle Drogo or Lydford Gorge in under half an hour. Buckfast Abbey is about twenty minutes away.
For a day at the coast, places like Torquay or Brixham are within a thirty minute drive. Dartmouth and Exeter are about the same.
Inside, it's open plan. There's a kitchen area, a sofa, and a dining table. We provide all bedding and towels. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. Parking is right outside. You can bring one well-behaved dog. There's also a travel cot if you need it.
