Pleasant Maris
Pleasant Maris is in East Ogwell, a small village. It's a detached cottage, so no shared walls. You've got your own garden, it's enclosed with a patio area.
The cottage sleeps seven, in five bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating, which is about right. It's clean, comfortable, and traditional, not modernised. Everything works. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but the rest of the cottage is on different levels. The stairs are normal.
There's a pub and a restaurant about half a mile down the lane. The shop is in Newton Abbot, which is two and a half miles away. Newton Abbot has all the big supermarkets if you need them.
The open fire is lovely. We leave you some wood to get started. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We have a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
Outside, Decoy Country Park and Stover Country Park are close by for a walk. Newton Abbot Racecourse is nearby if there's an event on. For the beach, Teignmouth is about nine miles, that's the closest proper sandy one.
Totnes is eight or nine miles away, it's a historic market town on the river. Dartmoor is about a 30 minute drive for bigger walks. Torquay and the English Riviera coast is roughly the same.
