Swift

This is Swift. It's one of the cottages at Newhouse Barton, which is a small converted farmstead near Ipplepen. The countryside around here is nice, gentle hills and fields.

The cottage sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It’s got a 4 Star rating, so it’s comfortable and well finished. It's all on one level which is good if stairs are a problem. There's parking right outside.

Inside, it’s open plan. Kitchen, dining area, living area all in one space. There's a wood burning stove. It has a dishwasher and a washing machine. The patio area is private, with a BBQ.

The main thing here is the shared facilities on site. There's a heated indoor swimming pool, which is Roman-style, so it's a proper length for a swim. There's a games room with a pool table and table tennis. There's also a play area for young children.

You're about halfway between Totnes and Newton Abbot. The village shop is a mile and a half away. There are pubs serving food nearby.

For places to go, Dartmoor is about 20 minutes’ drive. Totnes is 10 minutes, it's got a castle and interesting shops. The coast is easy to get to. Torquay, Brixham, and Paignton are within half an hour. Salcombe and Dartmouth are a bit further, maybe 40 minutes. Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands are good beaches.

For local attractions, it might be useful to look at the Dartmoor National Park website and the National Trust Devon page.

One well-behaved dog is allowed. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
