Protea Cottage

This is Protea Cottage in Paignton. It's attached to the main house, Protea House, but it's self-contained and you get your own garden. The location is the main thing, that's why we bought it. You can walk down to the seafront in about ten minutes.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, and it's unusual because it's got two bathrooms. One is an en-suite with a big corner bath. The decor is traditional, some people call it classic, but honestly it's just straight-up comfortable. It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well-equipped and kept to a good standard.

You've got a washing machine, parking right outside, and a patio area with seating. The garden is shared with the main house but it's mostly for your use. No pets, I'm afraid.

For things to do, Torquay's seafront is right there. The English Riviera website is good for local events. If you want a proper day out, Brixham Harbour or a boat trip is about twenty minutes' drive. Dartmoor is about half an hour if you fancy a different landscape.
