Copper Tree Cottage

Copper Tree Cottage is on the Maidencombe coast road, about four miles north of Torquay. It's one of a few holiday places in the grounds here. It's on the main road, but the place itself is set back quite a bit.

It sleeps four. Three bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place. That means it's comfortable and clean, but not luxurious. The stairs are fairly steep, just so you know.

Maidencombe Beach is down the hill, about a ten minute walk. It's a small, sheltered cove. There's a beach cafe and a thatched pub, the Smugglers Inn, at the top of the path. The South West Coast Path runs right past. You can walk to Watcombe or Teignmouth from here.

Torquay centre is a ten minute drive. All the usual town things are there: shops, a theatre, the harbour. Babbacombe Model Village and Bygones are about five minutes away by car. Paignton Zoo is about twenty minutes. Dartmoor is roughly forty minutes drive if you want to get up on the moors.

For facilities: you've got your own patio area with furniture. There's parking for one car on the driveway. Bedding is included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. There's a TV and WiFi. The local pub is the one I mentioned, about 600 yards down the road.

Some useful links: The English Riviera site has local info, and the National Trust page lists their places nearby like Coleton Fishacre.
