Cliff Lodge

This is Cliff Lodge in Maidencombe. It's that big white house you can see from the coast path. It sleeps twelve. Six bedrooms, five bathrooms. Most of them are ensuite.

The main thing is the view. You're right on the cliff. The living areas and some bedrooms look straight out over the sea. There are glass balconies on a couple of levels so you can be outside with it.

There's a separate building with an indoor heated pool and a sauna. Next to that, outside, there's a deck with a sunken hot tub. It all has the same view. The games room has a full size snooker table, a football table, and a bar with a fridge.

The kitchen is modern. You can eat in the dining room or the conservatory. Both look over the coast.

It's got a 5 Star rating because everything is high spec. It was fully refurbished a few years ago. The grounds are sizeable and private.

The village has a pub and a small shop. The beach at Maidencombe is down a steep path. For a bigger beach, Teignmouth or Shaldon are five minutes by car.

You're on the South West Coast Path here. You can walk into Torquay one way or towards Shaldon the other. Torquay town centre is about three miles. Babbacombe is closer.

Included: all bedding and towels, WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine, parking. It has a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is allowed.

For planning: the South West Coast Path site is good for walks. The English Riviera site lists local events. For general Devon things, Visit Devon is useful.
