Rock House
Rock House is on the hill above the harbour in Torquay. It sleeps eight, in four bedrooms, with three bathrooms. It's a 4 Star property. We think that's fair. It's well looked after.
The main thing is the terrace. It's big, it gets the sun, and it looks right out over the harbour. You can sit out there with a drink and watch the boats. There's a table and chairs for eating outside.
Inside, it's spacious. The rooms are a good size. It's got a wood burning stove for cooler evenings, and a dishwasher because nobody wants to do all that washing up. There's WiFi and a TV, bedding and towels are included, and there's on-site parking for two cars.
You can walk down to the harbour and the seafront in about ten minutes. All the shops, cafes, and restaurants are down there. The property is pet friendly, you can bring up to two dogs.
For things to do, Torquay has the usual seaside stuff. You're close to the South West Coast Path for walks. A short drive gets you to places like Babbacombe Model Village or Kents Cavern. Paignton and its zoo are about fifteen minutes away by car.
If you want to explore further, Dartmoor is about forty minutes inland. Totnes, with its castle and interesting shops, is roughly half an hour's drive. For organised days out, the National Trust and English Heritage websites are useful for planning.
