This is Laurel Cottage in Stoke Gabriel. It’s a thatched place, detached, so it’s just you. It sleeps four across two bedrooms, and there are two bathrooms, which is quite handy.
The cottage is old. It’s Grade II listed, parts of it are from the 1300s. That means the floors aren't always level and the doorways can be low. The stairs are steep, like you'd expect. There's a garden at the front and another at the back.
You’re right in the middle of the village. The quay is a two minute walk down the lane. There are two pubs and a village shop, also just a short walk away. The shop is good for basics.
The South West Coast Path is accessible and you can drive to Brixham, Paignton or Torquay in about fifteen minutes for beaches. Totnes is close, about ten minutes by car, for its market and shops. Dartmouth is a bit further, maybe twenty-five minutes by road, but you can also get the passenger ferry from the quay here.
You can bring up to two dogs. It has a 5 Star rating, which means everything should be in good order. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are provided. We leave a cot and highchair in the understairs cupboard if you need them.
For planning, the National Trust Devon site is useful, as is the South Devon National Landscape page for walks.
