Mill Bank is number eight of the cottages at Tuckenhay Mill, near Totnes in Devon. It's a one-bedroom place but it's very spacious. It sleeps three, but it's really best for two people.
The layout is upside-down. You come in on the lower level where the bedroom and its en-suite shower room are. There's also a day room that looks out onto the stream. The living area, kitchen and dining space are upstairs. That's where you get the best views from two south-facing balconies over the water towards the old mill building.
You have your own garden with a footbridge that leads over to the main Mill facilities.
It's a 4 Star rated cottage. That means it's comfortable and well-equipped. It's got underfloor heating and a woodburning stove, so it's cosy. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included.
You can bring up to two dogs. We provide a cot and a highchair if you need them.
The main reason people come here is for the leisure facilities at the Mill, which you have access to. There are two indoor swimming pools and one outdoor pool. It's a quiet, grounds.
The local pub, The Maltsters Arms, is about a 15-minute walk along the creek. It does food. For a proper shop, you'll need to drive to Totnes, which is about three miles.
For the coast, Blackpool Sands is a 20-minute drive. It's a shingle beach with good facilities. Bantham, for surfing, is about half an hour away. Dartmouth is about five miles.
You're on the edge of the Dart Valley, so there's good walking from the door. For wider planning, the South Devon National Landscape site has details. The National Trust looks after a lot of the coast and some local houses like Greenway.
