This is Apple Barn Cottage in Brixham. It’s a detached place, so no neighbours through the walls. It’s on a quiet lane off one of the old streets near the harbour.
It sleeps four across two bedrooms. One twin room is on the ground floor. The main bedroom with a kingsize bed is upstairs. There’s one bathroom upstairs too. It has a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The stairs are fine – typical cottage turn, but not overly steep.
Brixham harbour is about a ten-minute walk downhill. It’s a proper working fishing port. The fish and chip shops are good. The town has the usual shops, cafés, and a bus service that goes along the coast to Paignton and Torquay.
The living room opens onto a small, private patio with a bit of grass and a table. It gets the sun in the afternoon.
Things to do: you’ve got the steam railway at Paignton, or you can get the ferry from Kingswear over to Dartmouth. Paignton Zoo is a big draw if you have kids. For a quieter day, Greenway, Agatha Christie’s house, is nearby and accessible by boat. The South West Coast Path runs right past the town.
Facilities include a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking for one car on the drive. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
