The Signal Box
The Signal Box is near Loddiswell, in Warcombe. It's a detached cottage, so no neighbours through the walls. It used to be the signal box for the old railway station, which is the house next door. You get views through the trees towards the river valley.
It sleeps three people. Two bedrooms and one bathroom downstairs. It's a 5 Star place, so it's well finished and comfortable. The layout is upside down. The living area, kitchen and dining space are all open-plan upstairs. That's where you get the best views. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings. A spiral staircase takes you downstairs to the bedrooms and shower room. It's a proper spiral staircase, so you need to be careful on it.
You have access to nearly four acres of land with private paths. It's good for a walk without leaving the property. We allow up to two dogs. There's on-site parking and a patio garden.
The local shop and a cafe are about 200 yards away. The cafe is at the Avon Mill Garden Centre. There's a pub a mile off in the village. For a supermarket or more shops, Kingsbridge is a short drive.
The coast is about six miles. Beaches like Bantham, Bigbury-on-Sea, and South Milton Sands are within 20-30 minutes by car. The South West Coast Path is along there. Dartmouth and Totnes, with their castles and harbours, are also within half an hour. For historic houses, you've got the Overbecks estate nearby and Greenway, Agatha Christie's house, a bit further on.
Inside, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them.
