Mill Cottage is the old flour mill here in Marsh Mills, Aveton Gifford. It's been converted for two people. You can park right outside.
It's a three-star property, so it's clean and comfortable but not luxurious. Everything's on one level, which is useful. There's one bedroom and one bathroom.
You get a private terrace at the front that faces south, over the mill pond. It's a sunny spot. The main gardens at the back are shared with us, the owners. They're nice to walk around. There's a mill stream and some chickens.
The village is a few minutes' walk. There's a pub, a shop, a village green. The road down to the river is tidal, so it floods twice a day. It's good for watching birds.
Bantham and Bigbury beaches are about four and a half miles away. You can walk from Bigbury-on-Sea over to Burgh Island at low tide. They run a sea tractor to get people back if the tide comes in.
For walking, the South West Coast Path is close. You can also pick up the Avon Estuary Walk right from the cottage. Kingsbridge is four miles. Salcombe is seven. Plymouth is about seventeen miles west. Dartmouth and Totnes are within half an hour's drive. Dartmoor is about the same.
Facilities: there's WiFi, a TV, heating is included. Bedding and towels are provided. There's on-site parking. We can take up to three pets.
