Inglewood Cottage
Inglewood Cottage is in Kingswear. It's just up the hill from the ferry over to Dartmouth. You get a view of the river from the front rooms and the little bit of garden out front. It sleeps five across three bedrooms.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well equipped and comfortable. It's not enormous, but it's fine for a family or a few friends. One bathroom, so you might need to time your showers in the morning.
The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's bedding and towels here for you. Parking is off-road and just for the cottage. You can bring a dog, up to two.
The village shop is a two minute walk back down the hill. The pub is about the same distance. To be honest, you'll probably spend most of your time going over to Dartmouth on the ferry. The ferry landing is a five minute walk from the cottage. The ferry runs all day and it only takes a few minutes.
From Dartmouth, you can get boat trips up and down the river. The castle is worth a look. For a bigger beach, Blackpool Sands is about a fifteen minute drive. It's a shingle beach, very clean. Slapton Sands is a bit further, maybe twenty five minutes.
If you like walking, you're on the South West Coast Path. You can walk one way towards Brixham, or the other way towards Dartmouth Castle along the water. For a different kind of day, you can get on the steam railway at Kingswear station, which is also a short walk away.
