4 Lakeside Lodge
4 Lakeside Lodge is on White Cross Bay. It's a modern holiday lodge, so think more like a new-build bungalow than an old cottage. It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own TVs, and two bathrooms. The 4 Star rating means it's comfortable and well equipped.
The main thing is the location. You're about halfway between Windermere town and Ambleside. You can walk down to the lake edge in two minutes. There's a marina there, so you can't swim, but you can launch kayaks or paddleboards. The lodge itself has a good-sized private deck with a table. You get a partial view of the water through the trees.
On site, there's a bar and restaurant and a small shop. You can buy an Entertainment Pass to use the indoor pool, sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi.
Brockhole, the Lake District visitor centre, is less than a mile away. They've got things like treetop nets and boat hire. It's good if you've got kids.
You're well placed for getting around. Windermere town has the shops and the train station. Ambleside is the other way, good for cafes and walking gear. For walks, you're right on the doorstep. You can drive to plenty of trailheads within twenty minutes.
Facilities: it's got a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. There's a stand for disposable BBQs on the deck. No pets.
