High Biggin

High Biggin is near Bowness on Windermere. It's a detached house about five minutes' walk from the village centre. The main thing is the view, to be honest. You look straight out over the lake from the front windows and the terrace.

It sleeps eight people. Four bedrooms, and each one has its own bathroom, which is useful. Three are en-suite and one uses a separate bathroom just next door. The master bedroom is a good size, with a dressing area and its own little sitting bit. It has a door out to a small terrace with a picnic table.

Downstairs there's a big L-shaped living room with an open fire and beams. There's a piano in there too. The kitchen is large and has a small snug area with a TV off it. There's a separate dining room. Outside, there's a terrace with that lake view and a hot tub. The garden is enclosed.

It's a 5 Star property, so everything is well finished and in good order. Bedding and towels are provided. There's parking, WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher.

You can walk down into Bowness in five minutes. All the shops, cafes, pubs, and the boat launches are there. For a longer walk, you can pick up the lakeside paths from the village.

If you want to drive out, Ambleside is about ten minutes north. Grasmere is maybe twenty minutes. Both are good for a wander and a coffee. For local information and walking routes, the Lake District National Park site is useful. The National Trust looks after a lot of the local land and houses.

No pets allowed, I'm afraid.
