Claife
This is Claife. It's a first floor apartment in a small block in Bowness. You get a dedicated parking space, which is a big plus here. The front is nothing special, but inside it's clean and comfortable. It's got a 4 Star rating.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms, one double and one twin. There's one bathroom with a bath and a shower over it. The living area is open plan and has two sofas. The kitchen is compact but has what you need.
The main thing is the location. You're a five minute walk from the centre of Bowness, so all the shops, cafes and pubs are right there. It's about a twenty minute walk down to the lake shore itself. From the living room window you get a view over the rooftops to a bit of the lake.
For walks, Orrest Head is the classic first one. It's a steep start but the view from the top is the whole thing. Brant Fell is closer and easier. For a proper boat trip, the Windermere Steamers leave from Bowness pier.
If you want to drive out, Ambleside is ten minutes away. Grasmere is about twenty minutes. For a wet day, The World of Beatrix Potter is in Bowness, and Blackwell house is a short drive away.
Facilities are what you'd expect. Wifi, TV, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. No pets allowed.
