The Studio at Lickbarrow Lodge is an apartment on the ground floor of our house. It’s a one-bedroom space, sleeps two, and has a 3 Star rating. We live here too, but the Studio has its own entrance and a little courtyard patio just outside the door.
The main thing is the quiet. It’s down a private lane. You’re only about a mile from Bowness, but it feels much further away. The bedroom is off the main living area. There’s a multi-jet shower in the bathroom. And there’s a wood-burning stove. We leave wood for you.
Inside, it’s one open-plan room. There’s a small kitchenette with a mini-oven and two hobs, a dining table for two, and a sofa. It’s compact. The TV has an Amazon Firestick. WiFi is included.
You can also walk through our large courtyard and into a bit of woodland we have. There are paths and clearings. It’s not manicured, but it’s nice for a wander.
To get to Bowness-on-Windermere, you can walk down the lane or follow the Dales Way path through the fields. It takes about twenty minutes. Both villages have shops, cafés, and pubs. The lake is there for boat trips or just walking the shore.
For walks, Orrest Head and Brant Fell are good choices nearby and give you the views. Further afield, you’ve got Grasmere, Ambleside, and Hawkshead all within about a twenty-minute drive. Keswick and the northern lakes are a bit further, maybe forty minutes.
Facilities are all listed. Bedding and towels are included. There’s parking for two cars right outside. No pets, sorry.
