Tarn Cottage
Tarn Cottage is in Grasmere. It's a stone cottage, small but solid. You can see the fells from the windows on a clear day.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. One double, one twin. There's one bathroom with a shower over the bath. It's a 3 Star, so it's comfortable and clean but not new. The stairs are steep, which is normal for these old cottages.
You've got an open fire in the living room. There's a starter pack of logs. The kitchen has what you need. There's a small cellar downstairs, which is handy for boot storage.
The garden is walled, a small patio with a table. Good for a morning coffee. Parking is for one car right outside.
You can walk straight from the door. The path up to Easedale Tarn is about ten minutes away. The village centre is a fifteen minute walk. There are cafes, a couple of pubs, and the gingerbread shop.
Ambleside is about a ten minute drive, Windermere maybe twenty. Coniston is within half an hour. If you want a big walk, Scafell Pike is just under an hour's drive to the start.
The facilities cover the basics. WiFi, TV, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
