This is Grange End Stables in Grasmere. It’s a conversion, used to be stables. Sleeps four in two bedrooms, with one bathroom. Has a 4 Star rating, so it’s comfortable and well kept.
It’s attached to another cottage, Coach House, but you have your own front door and a private, enclosed patio area out the back. Good for a coffee or a drink. There’s a dedicated parking space.
Inside it’s what you’d expect from an old building. Beams, stone walls, usual cottage things. The layout works.
You’re on the edge of Grasmere village. A pub is about five minutes walk. The village centre with shops and cafes is maybe ten minutes. It’s quiet where we are.
The main thing is you can walk straight from the door. Footpaths go right up into the fells. You don’t need to drive if you don’t want to. The River Rothay is just down the lane.
If you do drive, you’re in the middle of the Lake District. Windermere is about twenty minutes. You can get lake cruises from there. Ambleside is ten minutes. Keswick is maybe half an hour over the Kirkstone Pass.
Included facilities: WiFi, washing machine, towels and bedding are provided. You can bring up to two dogs. There’s a highchair.
