The Black Barn
The Black Barn is just outside Marldon in South Devon. It's off a quiet country lane. We built it new in 2022, so everything works. It sleeps up to ten people in five bedrooms. Has four bathrooms too, so no big queues in the morning.
Inside, it's all open plan. The kitchen has a big island, bifold doors to the garden, and a utility room off it. The living area has a wood burner and Sky TV. The stairs are fine, normal stairs.
There's a games room in the garden with table football and pool. Also a cinema room upstairs, behind a bookcase door. There's a gym on the ground floor with a treadmill and bike.
The garden is south facing. There's a patio, a lawn, a trampoline, and a five-seater hot tub. There's a pond, so you need to watch small children.
You're about a ten-minute drive from Paignton and the coast. Paignton beach is sandy and has a pier. Broadsands and Maidencombe are quieter bays. Torquay is about fifteen minutes away.
Marldon itself is a small village. There's a community shop and a pub, the Church House Inn, within walking distance.
For days out, Totnes is a twenty-minute drive. Paignton Zoo is close. There are a few National Trust properties nearby like Compton Castle and Berry Pomeroy Castle.
Facilities: all bedding and towels are included. There's parking for several cars, an electric vehicle charger, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a cot and highchair if you need them. We accept up to two well-behaved dogs.
