Oswald's Rest is a cottage on our farm, about halfway between Bamburgh and Seahouses. It's a detached, single-storey place, sleeps two. One bedroom with a kingsize bed, one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, with good bedding.
It's open plan inside. French doors open onto a private, enclosed patio with a table and chairs. You can sit out there in the morning. The garden is just for you.
You're on the farm, so there are fields. We've got pedigree Dorset sheep and Aberdeen Angus cattle. There are also eight camping pitches, but the cottage is off to the side on its own. It's quiet.
A footpath from the farm leads to the coast. It's about a fifteen minute walk to the beach. Bamburgh Castle beach is a mile away. The castle itself is very big and right on the cliff. You can visit it, or just look at it from the beach. The village has a few tea rooms, pubs, and the Grace Darling Museum.
Seahouses is about a mile the other way. That's where you get boat trips to the Farne Islands from. You can see puffins and seals, depending on the season. It's a proper old-fashioned harbour with fish and chip shops.
The cottage is on St Oswald's Way. You can join the path for walks. Holy Island is further up the coast, about a 30 minute drive, but you have to check the tide times for the causeway.
Inside, there's a kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine. There's a smart TV. WiFi is included. Parking is right outside. One well-behaved dog is welcome. We've got a highchair if you need it.
