Gullsway

Gullsway is our place in Beadnell. It's a single-storey cottage, so everything's on one level, which is handy. It's detached and it's right on Harbour Road, facing the sea. You can see the water from the front.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-kept and comfortable. There's a wood burner in the living room for cooler evenings. The garden at the back is enclosed, so it's safe for a dog or for kids. You can sit out there.

You're about thirty seconds from the beach. It's a long, sandy beach, good for walking. The village shop is a two-minute walk, and there's a pub that does food about the same distance.

Seahouses is two miles up the coast. That's where you get the boat trips out to the Farne Islands. It's worth doing for the puffins and seals. The National Trust looks after them. Bamburgh is about five miles, with the castle. You can see Holy Island from the beach here on a clear day.

A bit further inland, Alnwick has the castle and the big garden with the treehouse. That's about a twenty-minute drive.

In terms of what's there: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Parking for one car on the drive. We allow one well-behaved dog.

If you're planning trips out, the Northumberland Coast AONB site has good information.
