Rodney

Rodney is a cottage in North Sunderland, which is basically Seahouses. It's set back from the road, behind what used to be the post office. It's very quiet, but you can walk to the harbour and shops in about ten minutes.

It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. Both have king size beds. There are two bathrooms. One bedroom has an en-suite shower room. The main bathroom is separate, up a few steps, and has a bath and a shower. The stairs are open and a bit steep, which is normal for a place like this.

The cottage was done up in 2020. It’s got stone walls and old beams in every room, even the bathrooms. The floors downstairs are stone with underfloor heating. The kitchen is in what was a granary, so it's got high ceilings. There's a wood burner in the sitting room.

You can bring up to two dogs. The garden is small and gets the sun in the evening.

Seahouses beach is about a mile away. The village has shops, pubs, and places to eat. Boats to the Farne Islands go from the harbour. You can walk up the coast to Bamburgh along the beach.

Bamburgh Castle is about two miles up the coast. Alnwick Castle and the Alnwick Garden are about a twenty-minute drive inland.

Facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, wifi, and bedding and towels are included. There's also an electric vehicle charger.
