Sand Castles is in Seahouses. It's a detached house in a quiet cul-de-sac, so it's peaceful. You can walk to the beach in a few minutes.
The house sleeps six. There are four bedrooms upstairs and two bathrooms, one is an en suite. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. The washing machine is in the utility room.
Downstairs, there's a big living room with patio doors to the garden. We've put a wood burner in there for colder evenings. The kitchen is modern and has a dining table. There's also a small snug room if someone wants a bit of quiet.
Seahouses has shops, pubs and places to eat all within a mile. The harbour is where you get boats out to the Farne Islands to see the seals and puffins. The beach here is good, but if you want a long walk, Bamburgh beach is two miles up the road and it's massive.
Bamburgh Castle is worth a visit. Alnwick Castle and its gardens are about a twenty minute drive inland. The Alnwick Garden has a big treehouse restaurant.
For walking, the Northumberland Coast Path is right there. You can head south to Beadnell Bay, which is good for water sports, or north past Bamburgh. Holy Island is visible from the coast, but you have to check the tide times to drive over.
Facilities: there's parking for two cars on the drive. The back garden is enclosed. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
