Darling Cottage

This is Darling Cottage in Burton. It's a terraced cottage in a small, quiet row of old farm cottages. You look west over fields, and east you can see the sea and Bamburgh Castle on the coastline.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both en-suite, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well-finished and comfortable. There's a wood burner in the living room. The kitchen is through a stone archway from the dining room. The patio garden gets the sun and has that sea view.

You're down a single track lane, so it's very quiet. Bamburgh village is just over a mile away. It's got a couple of pubs, places to eat, a shop, and the castle. The beach there is massive and often quite empty. Seahouses is about three miles up the coast for more shops and boat trips to the Farne Islands.

The Northumberland Coast path is less than a mile away if you want to walk it. Holy Island is visible from the shore, but you have to check the tide times to cross. Birdwatchers often go to Budle Bay, which is two miles north of Bamburgh.

For a day out, Alnwick Castle and its gardens are about 15 miles south. Berwick-upon-Tweed is 17 miles north.

Facilities: it's got parking, wifi, a dishwasher, washing machine, and bedding and towels are included. There's an electric vehicle charger. Up to two dogs are welcome. The garden is enclosed.
