Quay Cottage is in Seahouses. It's right on the harbour wall, so you look straight out at the sea and the Farne Islands.
It's small, a proper old fisherman's cottage. Sleeps four. Two bedrooms and the shower room are downstairs. The living room and kitchen are upstairs so you get the view. The stairs inside are a typical cottage staircase, so they're a bit steep and narrow.
You've got a little balcony off the living room. You can stand out there and watch the boats. It's noisy when the wind's up, with the waves on the wall. But that's the point of it.
Everything in Seahouses is a few minutes' walk. Shops, pubs, places to eat. The beach is just along the harbour. You can watch the boats going out to the Farne Islands from the window.
Bamburgh is two miles up the road. You can see the castle from here on a clear day. The beach there is massive. Holy Island is about a twenty minute drive, but you have to check the tide times.
For a day out, Alnwick and its castle are about half an hour inland. The gardens are worth a visit.
Facilities: it's got a 4 Star rating. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and parking for one car right outside. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
