Farne Cottage is in Seahouses, right near the harbour. It's a single-storey cottage, which is good if stairs are a problem. You get a small enclosed garden and parking for one car out front.
It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. It sleeps four, with two double bedrooms and one bathroom. Both bedrooms have TVs on the wall. The main room has a wood-burning stove, which is nice in the evenings. Flooring is solid oak throughout.
The kitchen has what you need, including a dishwasher and a washing machine. You can bring two dogs. We provide bedding and towels. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
You're a couple of minutes' walk from the harbour. The village has shops, pubs, and places to eat. You can get boat trips from the harbour out to the Farne Islands to see the puffins and seals.
The beach is a short walk away. It's a long, sandy beach, good for a walk or if you want to try some water sports. The Northumberland Coast National Landscape is all around here for walking.
Bamburgh is about two miles up the road. The castle is hard to miss. The Grace Darling Museum is there too. Beadnell Bay is a couple of miles south. Holy Island (Lindisfarne) is a drive up the coast, but you need to check the tide times for the causeway.
For a day out, Alnwick Castle and its gardens are about a 20-minute drive inland. Berwick-upon-Tweed is about half an hour north by car.
